Holy Angels Council #12008
Jerry Peters, Grand Knight, 835-2335

San Angelo Council # 2136
Pete Gizzi, Grand Knight, 655-9300

The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men dedicated to Church, family, country and our fellow knights. Organized in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest in New Haven, CT, the order has grown to over 1.6 million members in over 12000 councils following the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

Locally, the Knights are well known for their Annual Thanksgiving HUNGER WALK, support for VOCATIONS and PRO-LIFE, and their contributions of time and talent to numerous religious and civic organizations including Catholic Outreach, Carmelite Monastery and the Hermitage at Christoval.  In 2001 the Knights around the world gave more than $116 million and more than 56.7 million hours of volunteer service to a broad range of Church, community, family and youth charities, programs and activities.

Holy Angels Council 12008 was formed to: Provide support to the Holy Angels Parish and encourage members to take an active part in parish ministries and activities

The Knights are open to all Catholic men that have reached the age of 18 years and a practical catholic (i.e. receiving the Sacraments). Annual dues are $25.00 per year. There is an initiation fee of $25.00 for those who have reached the age of 26 years. $10.00 initiation fee for those under 26 years of age. Insurance is available but not mandatory. Your membership in the order will allow you to attend meetings of any of the more than 12000 councils if your dues are current.

Holy Angels Council #12008 meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month in the Raphael Room at 7:00pm.

San Angelo Council #2136 is made up of some members of Holy Angels parish and also members of the other 6 parishes in the San Angelo area and meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 7:00pm at the KC Hall, 3636 N. Bryant Blvd.

Fr. Serran R Braun Assembly #1098
John Petrie, Faithful Navigator, 223-2572

The 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus is an optional degree. It is, however, the most visible arm of the Order as these "Sir Knights" wear their distinctive regalia - tuxedo, chapeau, cape and sword - while performing as a color guard or honor guard at various church and civic functions. The principle of the 4th Degree is Patriotism; respect for the nation and its symbols and good citizenship are emphasized at all 4th Degree meetings or ceremonials.

To become a 4th Degree Knight, a 3rd Degree member must have been a Knight of Columbus for one year and must be a U.S. citizen. While the tuxedo with social balderic is required for the 4th Degree exemplification and worn for certain social events, purchase and wear of the regalia is strictly optional.

The Sir Knights of Assembly #1098 represent Councils in San Angelo, Eldorado, Sonora and Wall. Fr. Serran R Braun Assembly #1098 meets at 7:00 p.m. each third Monday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3636 North Bryant Blvd.
