1. Catechesis for the Sacrament of
Reconciliation should precede the catechesis for Confirmation/First
Communion.
2. The catechesis for these sacraments should be kept separate &
should not be hurried.
3. It should be done in such a manner that the specific identity of each
sacrament is preserved.
4. The catechesis for the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
should be completed a few months before the celebration of
Confirmation/1st Communion.
5. While celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation is not required
before Confirmation/1st Communion, each candidate must have the
opportunity to do so.
6. The catechetical documents of the Church urge the in-depth involvement
of parents in the sacramental preparation of their children.
* Eligibility & attendance requirements are the same as other
Sacrament Preparation programs (see Confirmation/1st Communion
guidelines)
* Sessions are to be attended by
student/candidate & parent or other adult.
